Unexpectedly, our split EP with Lipstik Lipsing is nearly sold out! Head to Dufflecoat Records pronto, or bug us for the handful of copies that we have.
We present to you a video for our song “Country Claimed Me”. It has been lovingly constructed from public information films and privately owned scrabble tiles by Alistair Reid from the bands The Gilded Palace of Sin and Astronaut Memorial.
As well as being a free download from our bandcamp site, it’s also part of a splendid download compilation by Sloucher. We feel totally at home with other groups included such as OFF! and Wet Nuns, being pretty punk ourselves. Check it out here: http://sloucher.org/2012/04/02/ninjas-vs-romans-mix-cd/

If you go to our bandcamp site you can stream the whole thing: http://modelvillage.bandcamp.com If you like what you hear, a couple of the tunes can be downloaded for free, or you can buy the whole lot as a download or CD. The CD is going to be mega-limited and packaged in a lovely letterpressed sleeve, hand-pressed by the excellent Little Red Press in Salford. Imagine that image above, but even better!
To tie in with this, we’re going to be playing a few gigs, in what is nothing like a tour. One of the gigs is even ages before the record is released, which is careless. They are as following:

If you missed us playing at MJ Hibbett’s highly excellent Totally Acoustic night last week you can check out a podcast of the gig right here. I think we pulled it off, and there’s a one-time only (probably) duet between Elizabeth Morris and MJ Hibbett.
New split single with Indonesia’s Lipstik Lipsing should be available any day now from Dufflecoat Records! We’ll have copies at our gigs in Cambridge and Brighton this weekend.
It’s nearly flipping Christmas, isn’t it? Help yourself get into the spirit of the season by going and getting yourself a free download of our lovely festive tune ‘Next Xmas’ from our bandcamp site. Huzzah!
Bloody hell. We’ve been allowed to support the Lemonheads in just over a week - 11th of Dec at the Junction in Cambridge. We just can’t stop playing with 90s icons, though no Julianna Hatfield.
We’re on pretty early, 7:30 I believe. Some details on the Junction website here.
Here’s your update on Model Village business.
Firstly we’ve got a bunch of very excellent-looking gigs on the horizon in Cambridge, London and our south coast debut in Brighton. Better still, we’ll be playing with some fine people - Singing Adams, MJ Hibbett (doing a 2-man sci-fi rock opera), Widowspeak and Standard Fare. Details and such on the gig page.
Secondly, we’ve coming to a highly satisfactory agreement with the benevolent Dufflecoat Records. The result of this will be the release of a split EP in early 2012. Further details will follow in good time, don’t you worry.
Everyone wants to play in the Wapentake of Skyrack just for the name, right? Well, our dream is coming true as we’re playing in Leeds tomorrow. It’s at the strangely-named Musiquarium and we’re playing with Zea, Cowtown and Downdime. Doors 8:30-ish I think (DETAILS)
